Elena Hsieh (she/her) is a third year from San Diego studying English and Conservation & Resource Studies, and minoring in Politics, Philosophy, & Law. Within these spheres of interest, she is most passionate about environmental litigation, animal welfare, and ecological literature. As a second-generation immigrant from Taiwan, she is driven to pursue the legal field as a means to substantiate change for those from less privileged backgrounds as she has witnessed the disproportionate impacts of climate change. On campus, she is affiliated with various environmental, legal, and literary student organizations writing for environmental publications and having experience leading conservation work at the Gill Tract Farm. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, running, scrapbooking, gymming, and photography.
